NEW FROM INTERPOLYMER

February 14, 2007 — " Interpolymer, a leading supplier of water based polymer technologies, has recently introduced in the North American market two new cationic acrylic copolymers for stain and tannin blocking coatings.

SYNTRAN 6301 and SYNTRAN FX30-20 were first introduced in the European coatings market and have been widely accepted due to their cost effectiveness and preferred environmental profile.

These polymers are specifically designed to effectively block water based stains, graffiti and wood tannins. Interpolymer has developed a series of prototype formulations that are available for sampling. Coatings formulated with Syntran cationic acrylics require no reactive pigments and offer the end user excellent convenience in application and clean up.

NEW FROM INTERPOLYMER

February 10, 2006 — Bimodal polymers enable lower VOC formulating possibilities

Regulatory legislation and environmentally-focused consumer groups continue to challenge the personal care industry to reformulate aerosol hair styling aids in an effort to lower the levels of volatile organic compounds.  The industry has contested that there may not be sufficient technology to permit the fomulation of marketable aerosolized products that would deliver performance attributes economically, aesthetically, and safely.  This paper introduces a new polymer technology that can help to bridge such gaps.

NOVEL GRAFT POLYMER BOOSTS SPF PERFORMANCE

January 30, 2006 —

Interpolymer Corp. introduces a grafted polymer, polyacrylate 15 (and) polyacrylate 17, which boosts the efficacy of traditional organic UV absorbers in an SPF 15 sunscreen lotion by nearly 300%.

This recent finding suggests that it may be possible to increase SPF claims beyond 15 without the addition of problematic inorganic UV absorbers.  Alternatively, these findings also suggest that it may be possible to formulate an SPF 15 product without the use of 10-15% organic active ingredients, thus reducing the potential for skin irritation and unnecessary costs.
