Syntran PC 5320 is a cationic polymer which is intended for use in hair care products such as shampoos, conditioners, mousses, styling lotions and glazes where improved combability, styling ease, detangling and additional hold are desirous attributes.  In skin care formulas, Syntran PC 5320 may impart slip, lubricity, improve feel and form.

In recent studies, Syntran PC 5320 was compared to benchmark polyquaternium polymers (1% aqueous solutions) on hair tresses.  Syntran 5320 demonstrated excellent wet detangling, wet/dry combing and tactile smoothness, superior control of static charge/flyaway and frizz and no residual stiffness.

This cationic polymer offered by Interpolymer will enable formulators to make new and differentiated claims in an effort to address industry trends that favor multi-functional raw material performance to support formulation claims.

Storage

SYNTRAN PC 5320 is freeze thaw stable.  However, it is recommended to store the material above 5°C.  If frozen, material should be moved to a warm place and allowed to thaw completely and evaluated for performance before use.  Direct heat such as steam or air heated above 50°C should not be applied.

SYNTRAN PC 5320 is storable in original sealed containers and properly monitored storage tanks at ambient temperature at least one year storable.

Safety

We know of no ill effects that could have resulted from using SYNTRAN PC 5320 for the purpose of which it is intended or from processing it in accordance with current practice. According to the experience we have gained, and other information at our disposal, SYNTRAN PC 5320 does not exert any harmful effects on health, provided that it is used properly, due attention is given to the precautions necessary for handling chemicals, and the information and advice given in our Safety Data Sheet are observed.

Handling

All contact with the eyes and prolonged contact with the skin should be avoided.  Safety glasses must be worn when handling this product in its concentrated form.
