Megatran® 233
Megatran 233 (US Patent 6,020,413) for high solids floor finishes is a significant addition to Interpolymer’s portfolio of high performance, cost effective products for floor care.

With a strong market demand for reducing the total cost of floor care without sacrificing the appearance of the floor, high solids formulations have been growing in popularity.  Interpolymer’s Sales and R&D team evaluated the competitive marketplace and interviewed both formulators and end users to determine the requirements for a “next generation” high solids polymer.

Megatran 233 has been specifically designed to address the drawbacks of the current high solids products.  Floor finishes based on Megatran 233 can be applied easily and consistently using conventional mop and bucket application techniques.  Three coats of finish will give the end user a high gloss, beautiful floor that is durable enough so that minimal maintenance is required.  Megatran 233 floors require only dry mopping and washing or occasional burnishing, dependent on the maintenance program preferred by the customer.

With Megatran 233 floors, the end user may realize a total cost reduction in the initial application because only 3 coats are required versus 5 for a conventional floor.  The significant reduction in total floor care costs will be realized each time the end user undertakes a strip and recoat maintenance program.

With conventional systems, 2-3 coats of new floor finish are required in a strip and recoat program.  For Megatran 233 floors, one coat of new finish applied after the surface strip is all that is required.  The end user will realize significant savings in chemical and labor over the life of the floor.
