This innovative, multi-functional polymer was developed by grafting an amorphous functional acrylic polymer section onto a crystalline polyethylene backbone.  The crystalline portion provides barrier, moisture retention, elasticity and tactile attributes such as lubricity and “feel”.  The amorphous portion provides film formation, adhesion, substantivity, and formulation flexibility.

In a typical film the crystalline wax tends to migrate to the surface on drying.  The amorphous graft polymer portion slows the migration so that the wax is more evenly distributed through the film, which results in more uniform performance of the film.

Storage

SYNTRAN PC 5208 is not freeze thaw stable and should therefore be kept at temperature of 5° C to 35° C. SYNTRAN PC 5208 is storable in original sealed containers and properly monitored storage tanks at ambient temperature at least one year storable.

Safety

We know of no ill effects that could have resulted from using SYNTRAN PC 5208 for the purpose for which it is intended or from processing it in accordance with current practice. According to the experience we have gained, and other information at our disposal, SYNTRAN PC 5208 does not exert any harmful effects on health, provided that it is used properly, due attention is given to the precautions necessary for handling chemicals, and the information and advice given in our Safety Data Sheet are observed.
