SYNTRAN PC 5208:
Polyacrylate-15
This innovative, multi-functional polymer was developed by grafting an amorphous functional acrylic polymer section onto a crystalline polyethylene backbone. The crystalline portion provides barrier, moisture retention, elasticity and tactile attributes such as lubricity and feel. The amorphous portion provides film formation, adhesion, substantivity, and formulation flexibility.
In a typical film the crystalline wax tends to migrate to the surface on drying. The amorphous graft polymer portion slows the migration so that the wax is more evenly distributed through the film, which results in more uniform performance of the film.
